Why ShopLocal.ie Bans extra charges such as Convenience fee, booking fee, service fee, payment fee and so on...
Spoiler first: We have ultimately banned any kind of extra charges on our Shopping Hub for ever! You cannot find any of these in any of our participating stores.
But There is ONE exception: Shipping charges that legitimately covers the cost of bringing the ordered items to you. This could be An Post, 3rd party courier company, or local delivery provided directly the local business.
But, we strongly feel that it is unfair with customers that charging them extra for preparing their online order that is being picked up in store, or for charging extra for paying by credit card, booking event tickets, etc.
